Everyone knows the end of the financial year is a busy time for accounting firms and Harding & Thornbury is no different. This EOFY we have added to the challenge by completing a major accounting software upgrade and having one of our Partners travelling interstate.
Lance Staer travelled to Brisbane to attend the Christian Management Association (CMA) conference. This year the focus was on public benevolent institutions. One interesting speaker was Murray Baird, Assistance Commissioner and General Counsel for the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission.
Whilst in Queensland Lance was also a guest speaker at the Australian Not For Profit Accountants Network (ANFPAN) meeting.
Attending the CMA conference and presenting at the ANFPAN meeting underline Harding & Thornbury’s commitment to providing high quality advice to the not for profit sector. Although not-for-profit entities are not businesses seeking to maximise profit, they are organisations that want to run efficiently, legally and achieve their charitable aims. Keeping up to date with regulatory change and improvements available to the sector makes good sense.
